  1. You are just great. It's a pity killing all these beautiful birds for food. Somehow killing rats will check the population growth.

  2. The sad thing is the Laotians eat all wild animals, partly out of necessity and poverty and partly as they like the taste. All birds are eaten. Eating the rats will mean less food for snakes etc, although there are so few snakes left. Remember they are eating "country" rats, not town rats. The markets are certainly a good place to see animals though!
