During London Fashion Week 2023, the London underground Bond Street station was transformed into ‘Burberry Street’ station. Much of the signage at the entrance and the roundels inside the station were changed.
Although I have no interest in fashion, I decided to go and have a look at the station for the novelty factor. As my train approached Bond Street station, the driver did warn the passengers that it was indeed Bond Street.
There are 2 adjacent entrances on Oxford St, one had been changed, one hadn't.
The escalators are full of advertising
And on the platforms, the changed signs and roundels -
There was no mention that I could see of fashion week.
I had to Google Burberry as I know nothing about it. From Wikipedia "Burberry Group plc is a British luxury fashion house established in 1856 by Thomas Burberry and headquartered in London, England. It currently designs and distributes ready to wear, including trench coats, leather accessories, and footwear".
The logo of an equestrian knight is currently in "knight" blue, hence the colour used by Transport for London (TFL).
The ‘Burberry Street’ partnership is for one week, ending 19 Sept. The money TFL earned from the rebranding will be put back into running the network.
