These blogs are my non-cave photos and stories. The older ones are taken from my Multiply site, which closed in March 2013. I have a 2nd blog for the SE Asia cave items and a 3rd blog for non SE Asia caves.
Nice flowers......some of them are introduced species to Malaysia.
ReplyDeletePlucked Hibiscus, Idea hypermenstra, & Parthenos sylvia (bottom). Typical of a butterfly farm scene. If I can see a scene like this in nature than I know I am in heaven !!! These butterflies should be free in the wild, not caged in prison. A better prospective is to establish an open concept with lots of flowers and food plants of various species for them to multiply, naturally. The butterflies will hang around this area because they are attracted by the nectar and food plants to lay eggs. Most farm got the butterflies from the wild and very few are self breed. It actually send these butterflies to life imprisonment without the chance to lay eggs.
ReplyDeleteThanks. And yes you are right, it was taken in Penang Butterfly Farm. At least the butterflies are in a huge walk-though cage so they are relatively free.
