Fun and strange food in SE Asia

This is a bamboo rat in the market, and then on our dinner plate -

  1. i remember some lao friends who made me try bamboo rat. in a dinner, i thought the blood jelly that they served was the only dish from the bamboo rat which i did try. to my surprise, the lap and the bamboo soup that were also served were made from bamboo rat. found out when i saw a paw in the soup after devouring much of the food already. hehehe

  2. I found the bamboo rat to be very tough and not much meat on it. I saved the paws and tail from the meal - I've just added the photo !
